Android FirmwarePollsRumours

“Jelly Bean” says Asus (what do you think for the it will bring? #polls)

So, recently Android unleashed to the world the “I” version of Android OS… better known as 4.x or “Ice Cream Sandwich”.

Then, at MWC Android’s booth had little jars of jelly beans strewn about…

If you follow the clues, the next release of Android will be “J”… so is it Jelly Bean?  Has a good ring to it…

Asus has weighed in and told the world that the 5.0 (note that it’s not going to be 4.2 or 4.4 etc…) release will be Jelly Bean.

“Asus is very close to Google, so once they have Android 5.0 I think there will be a high possibility that we will be the first wave to offer the Jelly Bean update.”

My money is on the fact that Asus will be the first to get the update, or as the internet is speculating that they will be the Tablet Nexus (but Google has said they will do their own…)

Then there’s the huge debate lately about what “K” will be.  For a few days there were claims that “THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE” for K.  Key Lime Pie, or there’s Kugle… my wife liked Kiwi pie… anyways, I think that we’re getting caught up in naming and have forgot something.

THERE IS LESS THAN 2% ON ICS, and JB HASN’T EVEN BEEN RELEASED YET

So, why get ready to name the next next OS?

This has me wondering… what will JB bring to the masses? (I keep wanting to think Jim Bean when I see JB)?

I’m having a hard time trying to think what is ‘missing’ from Android right now.  We know that Google’s a great ‘innovating’ company (as compared to another company who just released a slightly minimally updated product, yet flooded our social streams) and can bring some cool stuff.

I’m hoping for GoogleTV integration (as ICS bought together tablets and phones)… I’ve heard more about the home automation… who knows?

Let me know what you think:
