Rumour: Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S to Get Android 4.0.5 by March
Where things stood
The latest official Android on the Galaxy Nexus was 4.0.2, and some units were still on 4.0.1 for unknown reasons. Google had been pushing Nexus S updates slowly. Several 4.0.3 custom ROMs were circulating for Galaxy Nexus owners who wanted something newer.
The rumour
SFR’s leaked plan listed both Google phones for an update by March. The author noted that the process was less simple than before. The Nexus S was updated by Google alone, while some Galaxy Nexus variants were updated by Samsung.
The Verizon update
Over the weekend, the Verizon Galaxy Nexus was pushed to 4.0.4 to improve performance and fix a few bugs. Some Canadians asked whether they would see an update too, and the author said yes.
For modders
Rooters and Nexus modders might see early 4.0.5 builds before the official release.
