Galaxy Nexus 4.0.3 Stock-Like ROM: A Slim, Fast Option
Why the author liked it
The author flashed ROMs on the Galaxy Nexus almost daily and always preferred “less is more”: a slim, fast ROM free of clutter. Custom tweaks and extras are nice, but a clean system mattered more. This build had no fancy name, yet the developer had done strong work and followed the project from the first build.
What it changed
- Kept the system as close to stock as possible.
- Tweaked battery performance.
- Added extra power menu options.
- Used an undervolted Apex kernel to save battery without hurting stability.
Most other changes were under the hood. Many users would not see them, but the author said they could be felt in daily tasks.
Before you flash a ROM
Flashing a custom ROM needs a rooted phone. Rooting and flashing can void the warranty, wipe data and, if done wrong, leave a phone unusable. Back up first and take files only from the developer’s own official thread. This page does not link to any download.
Status today
Android 4.0.3 and this ROM are long obsolete, and the Galaxy Nexus no longer receives updates.
