Here’s What’s New In Android 4.2.2
I don’t think any of us here in Canada have officially gotten the Android 4.2.2 update quite yet, but those who have are reporting some of the new features that they’ve discovered in the update.
The first new feature is a new download notification. The notification now shows you both the percentage downloaded and the time remaining in the download. I actually thought that Android always did this but I clearly don’t pay attention to my downloads!
Secondly, there are a couple of new sounds that have been added into Android 4.2.2. The first sound is for wireless charging, something many still don’t have access to due to the lack of access to the charging dock. The second sound is for a low battery.
The last addition to Android 4.2.2 is a change to the quick settings toggles. You can now long press Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to turn them on and off. This, however, is in contrast to the short press required to activate/deactivate Airplane mode. It’s rather strange that there are two different touch modes with these quick settings, but it’s still nice to have that ability to turn these on and off quicker.
If any of you have found any other new features, chime in in the comments.
