Google’s Latest Security Update Fixes Pixel and Pixel XL Freezing Issue
Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are great products, but that doesn’t mean they are perfect – far from it. Case in point, the devices have been plagued by a series of issues since their launch last fall.
For example, reports have been piling up on forums about the Pixel and Pixel XL freezing randomly while performing certain operations. Owners have been complaining of this particular issue ever since November.
Well the good news is that Google rolled out a fix included in the June security update. The company has released the new build in the form of an OTA update today. The roll out will continue in the upcoming weeks and will probably reach Canadian users soon.
Google cautiously notes in a statement that the fix is not guaranteed to mend all the issues.
“Freezing and general device performance issues can be caused my many different things, so please continue to update this post with your individual experiences after accepting the June security OTA.”
Anyway, if your Pixel or Pixel XL has been plagued by the random freezing issue, you can try and install the fix and see if it works for you. If it doesn’t, head on to the Pixel product forums and let Google know what’s going on.
