Google Offering Pixel XL Replacements to Owners of Faulty Nexus 6Ps in Canada
The Nexus 6P is a two-year old device that has been plagued by its fair amount of problems including battery drainage and bootloops.
Now if you are the owner of one of these affected Nexus 6P units, we have some good news for you. You see, according to users on Reddit, Google is currently in the process of replacing faulty Nexus 6P phones under warranty with Pixel XL phones.
You’ll need to be located in Canada (or the US) and have purchased the phone through the Google Store in order to be eligible to receive a Pixel XL replacement. Also, if you are in Canada, you’re more likely to receive the 32GB version of the Pixel XL, but some customers in the US have reportedly received the 128GB model also.
What’s more, even Nexus 6P models who are out of the original 1-year warranty appear to be eligible for the trade-in. So rejoice! You no longer have to be stuck with an ill-functioning device.
Note that your Pixel XL will arrive before you send your Nexus 6P back to Google, but the company will place a temporary authorization on the full price of the Pixel XL on your card. That will ensure you don’t forget to seed in your faulty Nexus 6P.
