Gmail Update Brings the Ability to Change Your Settings from Your Android Device

A new update for Google’s popular Gmail app for Android is currently rolling out, one which throws some really useful features into the mix.

From now on you’ll be able to edit your private information in your Google Account straight from within the app. This means you can change your password, profile info, privacy and security settings without having to leave the app.

It might not sound like much, but previously users were required to access the desktop app if they were to do any of these things. Now they will be able to change their password right from their Android smartphone.

You’ll find these options by going to Settings, choosing your desired email account and taping the “My Account” option.

What’s more, the new update also upgrades the way you use swipe actions. Now when you swipe to delete or archive an email, you will notice an “undo” feature at the bottom.

If you haven’t updated your Gmail app for Android, you can do so right now. Just head on to the Google Play Store, hit “update” and enjoy. The Play Store usually automatically notifies you when a Gmail update is available, but if you don’t see you can take the manual route as well.
