Google Wants to Help You Discover New Games in the Play Store More Easily
The Game Developer Conference is currently happening in San Francisco, USA and with this occasion Google discussed plans to help new games get more attention in the Play Store.
Game enthusiasts might have a hard time finding new games in the Play Store now, but soon enough this won’t be a problem anymore. Google wants to help gamers discover new, cool titles – therefore it will be changing the Play Store algorithms so games will be organized based on user engagement and not just on the number of installs the have.
What’s more, Google will soon be debuting special game-related pages in the Play Store. These pages will focus on a specific game genre and will feature titles handpicked by Google editors, complete with reviews. Expect these pages to go live this spring.
Last but not least, game devs will be able to set their own prices and run promotions on their own starting this week via the Google Play Developer Consoles. Google said in the testing phase, developers saw up to 20 more downloads during the deals.
So if you too are a fan of indie titles, hold on tight because Google will be bringing them into the spotlight this spring.
Google also announced Transformers: Forged to Fight, Battle Breakers and Injustice 2 will be coming soon to the Play Store. The apps are available for pre-registration now.
