A new phone has landed with one of the smaller Canadian carrier, Freedom Mobile. Starting this week customers will be able to pick up the ZTE ZFive 2 for $170 CAD a pop.
The ZTE ZFive2 is a middle-range device that doesn’t offer stellar specs, but it’s good enough to sustain standard activities.
The phone offers a 5-inch display with unknown resolution although we have to assume it’s 1280 x 720. It bundles a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4GHz. It also offers 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
On the imaging front, there’s a 5-megapixel main camera, as well as a 2-megapixel selfie shooter. Even though it launches in 2024, the phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, which is pretty disappointing. Still maybe the $170 price-tag will help you forget this aspect. Naturally, the phone is compatible with Freedom Mobile’s Band 66 LTE.
In case you don’t want to pay the full price, there’s also the option of paying $0 down for the phone and $5/month with MyTab Boost.
If you don’t want a low-end device such as the ZTE ZFive 2, you should know that Freedom Mobile also offers high-end phones like the Samsung Galaxy S8 or LG G6 if you prefer a phone with better specs.
