Google Play Vouchers May Soon Be Available In Canada

We recently brought you news that Rogers was running a promotion that gave a $35 Google Play voucher to customers purchasing select Samsung devices. This raised a few eyebrows because Google Play vouchers were and still are only available in the United States and the U.K. It appears however that Google is possibly planning on launching Play vouchers in Canada.

The ability for Canadians to redeem voucher codes was added along with a $25 offer that shipped with Nexus 7 orders but you could not redeem them within the Google Play app. A new drop down option in the app itself suggests the launch of vouchers in the future. This may only be a result of the vouchers that Rogers in offering but it should be noted that the inclusion of the drop down in the Play store is independent of carrier.

This would be a welcome development as mobile vouchers would relieve the need of a credit card attached to your account.
