Google’s newest version of Android is expected to be released in October, along with the new Nexus 5, so as we come closer some details start to come up about what to expect from the new Nexus device and software update. Leaks regarding the Nexus 5 haven’t been scarce, but those regarding Android 4.4 Kit Kat are almost nonexistant.

Today, thanks to an update to Google Korean IME, we get to see one of the possible cosmetic changes to arrive with Android 4.4. A new screenshot added with the update reveals a change in colour to the icons in the status bar. The screenshot was later removed, but someone managed to retrieve it before that happened.

The icons in the status bar have apparently changed from blue to gray, which would be the first major change to the status bar since the change from Gingerbread’s green to blue in ICS. Though the simplicity matches that of iOS or Windows Phone, Google may offer multiple color options as you get in CM.

Also, if you notice the debugging icon which resembles a jelly bean in Android Jelly Bean, resembles a piece of pie in this screenshot, which further adds to the idea that before the deal between Google and Kit Kat, Android 4.4 was set to be Key Lime Pie.

For now that’s all we know, but we’ll let you know as more info surfaces on the upcoming release of Android 4.4 Kit Kat. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
