Samsung In Talks With NVIDIA And AMD For Mobile Exynos GPU?

The mobile SoC space heating up dramatically thanks to advancements in IPC improvements, manufacturing processes and competition from other companies. Samsung produces their own Exynos series of SoCs for phones and tablets and now it looks like they want to have an “edge” on the GPU side.

SamMobile reports that Samsung is currently in talks with two of the major desktop GPU leaders; NVIDIA and AMD, after both companies unveiled their newest graphics architectures this year. Samsung is most likely looking to license some of the GPU technologies as the regular ARM Mali GPU found in current and previous Exynos’ leaves much to be desired.

However do note that NVIDIA already has experience with low power mobile SoCs as shown with their Tegra 2, 3, 4, K1 and X1 SoCs so it would be a no-brainer for Samsung to license the tech from the GPU.

Now to wait and see when we’ll come across this in a real device in the near future.
