LG G Watch Launching Q2, Runs Android Wear
There you have it folks, the long-awaited and rumored LG Smartwatch you’ve all been wanting to see.
After Google’s Android Wear announcement earlier today, LG has announced in a press release that they have partnered with Google to release a Smartwatch of their own called the G Watch in the second quarter of this year. It’s meant to be compatible with a wide range of Android smartphones from the ground up, unlike Samsung’s Gear devices which requires software modding to be compatible with non-Samsung devices.
More details like hardware specs are to be announced later but do note that LG has said that it will be a “low barrier to entry” for developers. This might mean that it could be available at a discounted price on the Play Store just like the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5, both of which are also manufactured by LG.
