SwiftKey keyboard updates in beta2

My favourite keyboard has updated itself to a new beta version 2.

Not much has really changed on the outside, except for a “dark” theme. What is new however is the fact that instead of learning from your texts it can learn from several other sources (because really, who texts anymore?). I haven’t had it learn from any of those as I’m never a fan of giving up permissions to some of my passworded areas.

This is my favourite replacement keyboard, and I’ve tried a few!  On my phone I have installed the Samsung one, swype, a gingerbread style one (from xda) and I gave 8pen a try as well. I had also had the old HTC magic at one time and used their respective keyboard.

However, I still always returned to SwiftKey. I’m still quite amazed how well it guesses the word despite some real flubs in typing.

I’ve toyed with the settings for the auto complete, but haven’t noticed much difference.

Seriously, I’ve seen quite a few users out there with the stock keyboard, even in phones like the capitvate, which give you swype for free! Do yourselves a favour and grab SwiftKey. Definitely worth it.

I can’t imagine how those Blackberry people can live with being stuck with the generic keyboard. Have the iSheep been allowed out of their apple keyboard without jailbreaking?
