Well here’s a story that’s bound to pique the interest of some of you out there. Some images surfaced today supposedly of the Galaxy S5′s metal frame. The pictures first surfaced courtesy of Nowhereelse.fr who received them from someone who claims to work for a subcontractor that Samsung is using for these frames.
The overall shape of the device retains fits with the Note 3 with its straight edges and rounded corners but there are a few issues with this frame that make these pictures a little questionable. First of all, the camera is in the top corner whereas the majority of Samsung phones as of late have their camera in the middle so it’s definitely different. Of course, it is rumoured that Samsung will overhaul the design on the “S” series so this could be part of their new design language.
The other issue with the frame though is in the USB port. Given that the Note 3 is packing USB 3.0 now, you would assume that Samsung would include this port in future products as well. What looks to be the port on the bottom of the phone in the picture appears to be a standard microUSB rather than the larger port used on the Note 3 so that’s something to questions too.
For the time being, take this as a rumour and don’t put too much weight into these pictures. Hopefully more leaks will surface soon enough to either confirm or deny these pictures.
