It’s been a little while since we’ve heard any news or rumours from the Motorola camp but famous and, generally, reliable leaskter EvLeaks has some new rumours/news regarding Motorola’s next hero phone to kick off the weekend. EvLeaks has posted some specs on his Twitter page for the upcoming Motorola X-Phone (or Moto-X). According to EvLeaks, the Moto-X will feature a 720p display, 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 10MP camera, 2MP front facing camera, and Android 4.2.2 running things.
These specs are quite a downgrade from previous rumours which had the phone running a 1080p display and some sort of quad-core processor (either the Tegra 4i or Snapdragon 800). The cameras seem decent enough but are also a downgrade from the rumoured 16MP shooter that it was expected to come equipped with.
Despite EvLeaks fairly reliable track record, I have a hard time believing that these will be the specs of Motorola’s next flagship as they line up more with the mid-level devices than with flagships. There is a small possibility that this particular device is not the hero device to make Motorola relevant again as there was a report a month or so ago saying that Google had “lost interest” in the project (whatever that means).
Whatever the Motorola X Phone is, it’s expected to launch this summer (which is kind of underway) so hopefully we’ll have our questions and concerns answered soon enough.
