Unlocked Sony Xperia XZ Premium to Land in Canada in September

Looking for a super-premium handset? Then you’ll be glad to know that the first phone ever announced with Snapdragon 835 on board will be making its way to Canada in early autumn – next month to be more precise.

We’re talking about the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, which is already available for purchase south of the border. And like its US counterpart, the phone will be sold through Amazon (the Canadian one, naturally) and will ship out to customers without a fingerprint sensor enabled. Did we say premium phone? We take that back. Sort of.

Despite the lack of a fingerprint sensor, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a beastly device. It arrives with a 5.46-inch 4K display (3,840 x 2,160 resolution) and 4GB of RAM plus 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot).

The product also includes a 19-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0, EIS, predictive phase detection and laser autofocus, as well as a 13-megapixel selfie snapper. It runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.

While Sony hasn’t revealed the Canadian pricing for the device, don’t expect it to be cheap. In the US the 4K phone can be purchased for around $890 CAD, so you’d better start saving for it now.
