You know me, you know I love updates. And this is a bit late, but I wanted to play a bit before writing up on them.
So yesterday I turn the phone on yesterday I got the notice that several Google Apps updated:
The G+ update was pretty cool. Nothing significant visually, but I like how the pictures are now Instant Uploading at 2500x___ instead of just 2048x___. Not fond of the new icon, but it’s consistent with the web, looks out of place on the widget.
You also have a new search and update button as well as ‘check in’ features.
Then I saw that Facebook updated
… and I thought to myself, I hope it becomes more like the mobile site. I had been using the site more than the app lately. And that’s exactly what I got. Nothing new if you’ve ever been to the mobile site, but a huge UI change up none-the-less.
It says it’s faster… I haven’t noticed that much of a speed improvement. But it’s easier to get between menu options, which is definitely welcome. [not that I use Facebook all that much since Google+]
THEN, to finish off the trifecta of social updates Twitter revamps not only its web appearance but the Android app too.
Can’t say I say it’s an improvement, but it looks neat. Again, I don’t use it all that much, but there are a lot of you who do, so go get it.
One thing I didn’t see what was an update to the widget on any of them. All this new looking apparel, but the widgets (which I interact with most often) are the same ol’.
