For our brothers and sisters down south, today’s big game is not only a match to decide the NFL’s championship team, but also a huge opportunity for companies to leave an impression on consumers though original and creative advertising spots. Due to licensing agreements, Canadians will not be privy to American feeds of the big game today, but have no fear, you’ll be able to catch up on what you missed on Youtube tonight.
In the meantime, Samsung has decided to get a head start and as such, they have already released their Super Bowl commercials on their Youtube channel. The commercials are part of the now famous, “Next Big Thing” advertising campaign and feature Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd, famous for their work together in The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up. The commercials, directed by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, also feature Bob Odenkirk (the lawyer from Breaking Bad) as well as a cameo from Lebron James.
Without spoiling it for you, the premise is Rogen, Rudd, and Odenkirk discussing what can be said in regards to the Super Bowl, without getting sued. As you’ll see below, apparently that means not a whole lot.
