If you’re planning to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ you might want to know that the Korean tech giant has struck a deal with the antivirus software firm, McAfee.
Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ units will be shipping out with McAfee protection software pre-installed onboard. More specifically, users who order the new handsets will find the McAfee VirusScan anti-malware technology will become available out of the box.
We should also note, the Samsung-McAfee deal includes the McAfee LifeSafe cross-device security software to come pre-bundled on Samsung’s new PC products. Furthermore, the McAfee security for TV anti-malware technology will be present on Samsung smart TV products in the US and Korea.
In related news, the security software firm’s CEO, John McAfee announced on his Twitter page he has plans to release a super secure smartphone called simply John McAfee Privacy Phone. The device will be a premium handset that will sell for a pretty high price-tag of $1,100.
It seems like McAfee is targeting the smartphones more than ever, as the latest developments seem to be indicating.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are currently available with most Canadian carriers and the Korean tech giant has recently made available the unlocked versions in the US too. No word on when they might come to Canada too.
