Rogers Nexus 6P Getting Android 8.0 on September 11

Google unveiled Android 8.0 Oreo not so long ago and now the update has started making its way to the masses. Of course, it’s limited to Google’s handful of Nexus and Pixel devices for now, but a wider release is expected to happen in the upcoming months.

Anyway, carriers across the world including AT&T, Verizon, and Optus Australia have started sending out the Android 8.0 update to supported devices. Well, this week we have some good news for owners of the older Nexus 6P at Rogers.

The update is already available for owners of the Pixel and Pixel XL, but if you’re holding on to the Nexus 6P, then you should know Android 8.0 will become available for your handset on September 11.

The Nexus 6P was launched in September 2024 and is still a very capable smartphone. The device features a 5.7-inch display with 1440 x 2560 resolution (QHD) and a Snapdragon 810 processor under the hood. The phone was manufactured by Huawei and includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of storage.

The arrival of the Android 8.0 Oreo update will help Nexus 6P owners revitalize their device. Hopefully, Rogers will keep true to its word and in a few days, Nexus 6P users will be able to update their gadget.
