Refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note7 Smiles for the Camera

Last month, it was revealed that Samsung still has hopes of monetizing the Galaxy Note7 fiasco, when it came to light that the Korean tech giant wants to sell refurbished units in select markets (but not in Canada).

Well now a few images allegedly showcasing a refurbished Galaxy Note7 have popped up online. By the looks of it, Samsung plans to offer Note7 units carrying model numbers SM-N935 and Android 7.0 Nougat onboard. But most importantly, the 3,500 mAh battery of the original Galaxy Note7 units has been swapped out in favor of a smaller 3,200 mAh one.

At the moment, there’s no information related to how Samsung plans to market the refurbished devices or for how much. The Korean tech giant might opt to rename the phone or offer it with a cheap price tag.

Last year, Samsung was forced to recall millions of Galaxy Note7 phones, after reports of the handset’s battery overheating and in many cases exploding. The producing company conducted an internal investigation in order to determine the cause of the fires. In the end it was revealed that two battery faults were behind the Galaxy Note7 debacle. But with a new re-designed battery onboard, will the Galaxy Note7 be able to live on?
