The OnePlus One was a smartphone that came from a company that only came into existance about a year ago, and it’s been a great year for them.
CNET reports that OnePlus has apparently sold almost 1 million units of their first and only flagship smartphone, despite buyers having to deal with the annoying invite system. The company originally expected the demand would come from their homeland, but worldwide popularity for the phone caught them by surprise as it was unheard of for a phone with the latest specs and 64GB of internal storage to go for $349 unlocked.
However, I still think the company would have easily exceeded 1 million units if they actually had a proper supply line to account for the demand.
Here’s hoping they are better prepared for their successor, the OnePlus Two and possibly even their first wearable device.
