OnePlus 3T Launches w/ 16MP Selfie Camera, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
As anticipated OnePlus unveiled its next-gen flagship device, the OnePlus 3T. Although the OnePlus 3 will not be discontinued, the 3T is now the top-tier phone in the OnePlus portfolio.
Anyway don’t expect the OnePlus 3T to sport massive upgrades. The phone is a little bit better than the OnePlus 3, but we’re not really sure it is worth the upgrade. You will have to decide.
The phone comes with an identical display, meaning a 5.5-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, but employs the superior powers of a Snapdragon 821 chipset (compared to a Snapdragon 820 in the previous phone).
The selfie snapper on the new 3T has been upped to 16MP (from 8MP), so selfie enthusiasts will really love the new OnePlus device. The main camera remains the same featuring a 16MP sensor but a protective sapphire screen has been added to shield it from misfortune. OnePlus also upgraded the camera by improving video image stabilization.
OnePlus throws in 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, but there’s a new 128GB version now. The battery capacity has been upgraded to 3,400 mAh, so the 3T should last you longer than the previous-gen device.
Despite previous rumors the 3T bundles Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, but OnePlus assures us that the Nougat update will arrive by the end of the year.
The new OnePlus 3T price starts at CAD $590 come November 22.
