Android Root, SuperSU over SuperUser

SuperUser, The iconic app and ground zero for any rooted user. Not only does SuperUser allow us access to those restricted areas of your phone and run those system modifying apps, it has also become a bragging chip.

Some of the most common questions Android users ask each other on the street is:

  1. Oh awesome phone! What model is that?
  2. Are you Rooted?

SuperSU has been gaining a lot of popularity over the months it has taken the spotlight. Not every rom cooker is embracing its glory, so I just wanted to pop the word out a little more.

SuperSU features include:

  • Superuser access prompt
  • Superuser access logging
  • Superuser access notifications
  • Per-app notification configuration
  • Temporary unroot
  • Deep process detection (no more unknowns)
  • Works in recovery (no more segfaulting)
  • Works when Android isn’t properly booted
  • Works with non-standard shell locations
  • Trusts ADB connection
  • Always runs in ghost mode
  • Wake on prompt

As you can see, SuperSU is basically a SuperUser multitool.

The most notable feature for me in the ability to temporarily unroot your device with a click of a button. This is a great feature if you like to use services like Google Movies which blocks rooted users.. Also there are rumours that Google may be blocking rooted users from accessing other various services in the future.
