Rogers, Telus Moto Z Play Getting Android 7.0 Nougat Update
Good news for owners of Motorola’s watered down Moto Z version – the Moto Z Play, who are living in Canada.
According users on Reddit, the Rogers and Telus Moto Z Play variant are currently receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The new build weight approximately 1GB, so you should make sure your phone is charged at least up to 60% before proceeding to installing the update.
The update is currently rolling out in Canada over the air (OTA), but if you are using a Rogers/Telus Moto Z Play and you haven’t received a notification yet, you might want to try to check and see if it has arrived manually. Just go to Settings>System Updates>Check for Updates.
For those who don’t remember, the Moto Z Play brings some decent specs to the table including a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920-pixel resolution and a Snapdragon 625 under the hood. There’s also 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (microSD card slot available for memory expanison) plus a 16MP/5MP camera combo.
