I have some great news for those using the Mobilicity service. They are increasing from the 3.5G network to a 4G network that will deliver “enhanced data performance with peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps.” There’s no confirmed date as to when the upgrade will occur, only that it’ll go live “later this year.” 4G not to be confused with LTE, as some people have got that mixed up.
21 Mbps sounds amazing, though these speeds are never truly as advertised, most users using SpeedTest.net will only get as high as about 4Mbps in best case scenarios. This is great news non-the-less, whether you’re in it for the cheap service, or your simply trying to stick it to the man, (Our large carriers) your service is about to get a small boost real soon.
