If you are an owner of a Sony Xperia Z3 or Z3c and have been wondering about the phone’s Lollipop update, it’s here!

Sony Mobile has announced on its website that it has now officially begun the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop for the unlocked Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3c models. The rollout has begun in several Nordic and other European countries. It’s unclear when exactly the OTA will arrive on North American carriers, but because of the way Sony ships the builds, anyone can flash a different region’s build using tools like Xperifirm, even without unlocking the bootloader or root.

The update brings a handful of new changes and improvements, including the following:

The Camera2 APIs introduced in Lollipop are unfortunately not present, which limits full camera access to 3rd party camera apps.

Stay tuned as we’ll let you know as soon as the update hits Canadian shores.
