LG G3 Benchmark Test Confirms Reports Of QHD Display
If you were tired of hearing things about the All New HTC One for the past few weeks, here’s something that will freshen things up a bit. You may have heard about many reports stating that LG’s next flagship (presumably the LG G3) will be one of the first smartphones to have a QHD display. Looks like those reports are quite accurate and there is significant evidence to support them.
Device information from a benchmark test (seems like GFXBench) has been leaked today by LGG3.com and it lists a phone by the model “LG-D850″ with a 2,560 x 1,440 display, which is most commonly referred to as QHD. This fits in exactly with the screenshots that were leaked a few days ago and the now-removed XML listing of the same LG-850 model number by @evleaks. Also, the phone seems to be running an 8-core MediaTek 6595 SoC clocked at 2.2 GHz.
It’s interesting to finally see a major OEM choosing a non-Qualcomm SoC for their flagships. The MT 6595 is apparently a competitor to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 so it would make sense why. It could be possible that this SoC could only be used for markets outside of North America due to different LTE bands but that’s just my guess.
