Lenovo Phab 2 Pro Launches for $649.99 in Canada [u]
As anticipated, the first Project Tango (or just Tango) smartphone was made available for purchase today. The device called the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro can be grabbed by American customers for $499 USD a pop. Update: The Lenovo Canadian site has the phone listed for purchase for $649.99 CAD, saying it ships in 5-7 business days. Gunmetal Gray is available, while Champagne Gold says “coming soon.”
Remember that Lenovo unveiled the Phab 2 Pro back in June, but now the phone can be ordered by interested customers. The device features a 6.4-inch display with 2560 x 1440 resolution and a Snapdragon 625 chipset underthe hood working hand in hand with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, but there’s no word whether an update to Android Nougat is in the cards.
The main 16MP camera is capable of shooting 4K video, which is pretty neat. But what makes this phablet special is the fact that it’s the first Project Tango phone to ever make a debut on the market.
There are three sensors embedded in the phone’s rear panel which are used to map the user’s surroundings, allowing the device to see what the person sees. The sensors can then use the information to create 3D maps that can be used for augmented reality game apps and more.
Anyone going to buy this in Canada for the price of $649.99?
