Huawei Mate 10 Lite with 18:9 Aspect Ratio Leaks Out

Seems like Huawei is gearing up to jump on board of the 18:9 aspect ratio bandwagon. According to the latest rumours, the company will launch Mate 10 Lite on October 16, as a variant of Huawei’s upcoming Mate 10 flagship.

The handset will feature a tall and narrow body which is characteristic of modern designs. And you can already take a look at the phone, as prolific leakster Evan Blass shared a picture of the device with us, alongside a few specs.

According to Blass, the phone will come with a 5.9-inch display with 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and a full-metal unibody. Interestingly, the Mate 10 which will supposedly be the flagship is expected to make a debut with a fullHD display and a standard 16:9 aspect ratio instead. So, the Lite version will have more premium hardware? It appears this won’t be the case as the phone will reportedly be fueled by an octa-core Kirin 659 and not the high-end Kirin 970.

Other specs include 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and a 3,340 mAh battery. The phone should prove interesting to photography enthusiasts because it’s poised to arrive with four cameras onboard – a 16-megapixel/2-megapixel module on the back and a 13-megapixel/2-megapixel setup on the front.

Blass says the phone will launch with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and will start shipping in November with a $558 CAD price tag. It will be available in Blue, Black and Gold.
