HTC U11 Is Getting Android 8.0 Oreo in Q4
Now that Google announced Android O, everyone is probably wondering: is my device getting Android 8.0 Oreo and if so when will that happen?
Well if you’re holding on to a recent HTC flagship, then you already have the answer to (some) of these questions.
The company has previously confirmed that the HTC U11, HTC U Ultra and HTC 10 will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo. But in a subsequent tweet, the Taiwanese company also revealed the approximate time frame for when HTC U11 owners can expect to get the new Android version.
HTC USA wrote that the HTC U11 is scheduled to receive the new software in Q4 2024 which means sometimes from October to December. That’s very good news, but we’ll have to wait and see if the company manages to honor the deadline or not.

Note however, that it might take a few extra months for the update to making from the US to Canada (hopefully not).
The HTC U11 is the company’s latest flagship which comes with a 5.5-inch display with 2560 x 1440 resolution and a Snapdragon 835 processor under the hood. It also includes one of the best cameras on the market – a 12-megapixel sensor with f/1.7, phase detection autofocus, OIS and dual-LED.
The phone launched with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, but it will soon get the tasty Oreo treatment.
