Google Will Unveil an Amazon Echo Dot Alternative on October 4

Amazon has the Echo and Google has the Home speaker. Amazon has the Echo Dot and Google has the … These suspension dots will soon be filed with the name of a new product which Google will reportedly unveil on October 4.

The device is called the Google Home Mini and leaked ahead of the announcement thanks to the Droid Life.

According to the report, the Amazon Echo Dot competitor will come in three colors including charcoal, chalk, and coral and will be available for purchase for only $49.

Naturally, the tiny speaker will be powered by the Google Assistant and will feature a set of four LED lights located at the top which will become illuminated once you interact with it. The Mini will be powered and not wireless, or at least that’s what the images at hand suggest.

The current Google Home comes with a price tag of $129, so the mini version will appeal to budget customers.

During the October 4 event, Google is expected to unveil the next-generation Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL and a revamped version of its Daydream View VR headset, as well as a new Pixelbook laptop with pressure sensitive pen support rumoured to cost a whopping $1,119 ($1,371 CAD).
