Google announced it has started rolling out Google Assistant to Android phones with Android 6.0 Marshmallow or Android 7.0 Nougat onboard, but it did not specify which handsets are expected to get the new feature. Or in which regions, for that matter.
Well it seems that we now have confirmation that Google is rolling out the Google Assistant-bearing update for all eligible phones in Canada too.
The folks of Mobile Syrup have already confirmed they are seeing the Assistant on their unit, a Rogers Galaxy S6.
@Tim_Canada Hi. The Google Assistant will be available on all eligible phones with Android 6.0+ & Google Play Services starting this week.

It makes sense to assume that high-end phones like the Galaxy S7, HTC 10 or LG V20 will be among the first to receive the Google Assistant. But eventually Google’s virtual companion will make it to more affordable handsets too.
If you are not seeing the Google Assistant on your phone, keep in mind that you need to be patient. Rollouts like these usually take some time. But the good news is that Google Assistant has landed in Canada.
Previously a Pixel exclusive, Google’s AI helper has started rolling out for non-Pixel devices in the US last week and it should be making its way to the UK, Australia and Germany soon.
Please let us know in the comments if you are seeing the Assistant on your phone.
