Galaxy Note 5 To Feature A 5.89-Inch Ultra HD Display
The Galaxy Note lineup has always been the best of Samsung in a smartphone and late last year’s Galaxy Note 4 was no exception, with it’s industry leading 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display. Now it seems the Korean giant wants to go even further.
According to news site PhoneArena, Samsung is preparing to use its latest Super AMOLED display in its upcoming phablet smartphone later this year. The UHD panel comes with a resolution of 2160 x 3840 in the PenTile pixel arrangement, which almost reaches into 4K territory. Production of the panels are expected to start around August, just in time for the company’s annual event during IFA in September.
For the first time in two years, the display will be slightly larger at 5.89-inches, bringing the density to 748ppi. Hopefully Samsung utilizes narrower bezels to accommodate for the size increase. It’s also worth mentioning that this may also help in terms of Virtual Reality as a more sharper screen will provide a more clear experience, especially if a 2nd-generation Gear VR is to be announced.
