Touch ClockworkMod Recovery for Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S

By Android in Canada Editorial TeamUpdated

What was released

Two days after the developer first showed the touch interface, the official beta started to circulate on Google+. It was still in beta, so rough edges were expected. Coverage was limited to the Nexus S GSM variant and both the CDMA and GSM versions of Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus.

How it was installed

The recovery is flashed over Fastboot, a developer tool that talks to a phone in bootloader mode. The original advice was blunt: anyone who has to ask how to flash it should leave it alone.

Risks of flashing

  • A wrong file or a mistake can leave a phone unable to start.
  • Unlocking and modifying a phone may affect the warranty.
  • Files from unofficial sources can be unsafe. This page does not link to or name any download.

Status today

This was a beta for devices that are long obsolete.
