Bell to release the Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE
The very first Canadian carrier to release the Galaxy S II series, Bell announced they’d be releasing the Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE “in the coming weeks”. This is another LTE device that’s going to be released as a Gingerbread device, but has been promised an upgrade to 4.0 “in coming months.” As for the official release date, you can count on this hitting stores on Thursday, May 3rd. There is been no confirmed price yet, but you could expect something around $649.99 full price and $199.99 on a 3-year contract.
For most of you reading this, I know you probably got to the bit where they say “Upgrade to ICS in the coming months” and rolled your eyes. I don’t blame you, with the rapid release date push backs rolling around everywhere, it’s not hard to lose a little faith for a mid summer release.
If you’re unclear about the specs of this phone, currently they are listed as:
- 4.65″ Super AMOLED screen (~316 ppi pixel density) with Corning Gorilla Glass
- 1GB Ram
- 16GB internal storage (Expandable MicroSD up to 32GB)
- 8MP camera
- 2MP Front camer
- 1.5Ghz dual core Scorpion processor
- 1850 mAh battery
Note: These specs could change to be personalized towards the Bell network.
As you can tell by the specs, this isn’t anything new that the Android lineup hasn’t seen already. Rogers currently offers this phone with a 4.5″, although the screens resolution will be better on Bell’s model.
