Xperia Z1 Mini Gets Pictured Next To Its Big Brother
I love a large screen phone. For myself, anything less than 5″ is too small and leaves me yearning for more screen real estate (I’m sucking it up with my HTC One till all the phablets make their way to market). I do realize, however, that not everyone feels the same way as me and may want something a little more compact and that’s where the “mini” devices have stepped in. Samsung has created Mini versions of their S3 and S4 and HTC has a mini version of their HTC One on the way. Sony, not wanting to miss any market segment, will also be launching a Mini version of their flagship device the Xperia Z1. It’s not the first we’ve heard of the device but we now have a picture to accompany it. And just in case you forgot, Sony’s Mini is going to stand out from the other Minis in a big way.
Both Samsung and HTC greatly downgrad the specs on their Mini devices to the point that they really shouldn’t carry the flagship moniker. Sony on the other hand, if rumours are to be believed, will be packing just as much juice into their Mini Z1 as they did with its larger namesake. Here are the proposed specs:
- 4.3? 720p Display
- Snapdragon 800 Processor
- 2 GB RAM
- 8 GB internal memory
- F 2.0 Sony’s “G” Lens in camera in same 20.7 MP cam
- Android 4.3 OS
Pretty incredible isn’t it? The 8GB of internal storage does seem a little bit lacking and it’ll be interesting what kind of batter they can pack into that compact frame but Sony is on a pretty good role right now so I’m hopeful.
Before you get too too excited, I would say take this with just a pinch of salt. These same specs did leak quite a while back so the fact that they’re still in tact is a good sign. However, you just never know until it’s all said and done. If this phone does come together as rumoured above, how many of you would be interested in buying?
