Telus November Android Plans by Region at Launch
This page preserves a snapshot of plans from that period. Do not use it for current pricing.
How the plans were organized
Telus Mobility priced plans by region: British Columbia and Alberta, the Midwest (Saskatchewan and Manitoba), Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces. The plans applied to new customers and to existing customers changing price plan. The one listed change since the start of the month was the launch of the Telus HSPA+ network.
What the $50 plan included
| Region | Daytime minutes | Data |
|---|---|---|
| BC and Alberta | 100 plus 50 bonus | 500 MB plus tethering |
| Midwest | 150 plus 100 bonus | 500 MB |
| Ontario | 100 plus 50 bonus | 500 MB |
| Quebec | 100 plus 50 bonus | 500 MB |
| Atlantic | 150 plus 100 bonus | 500 MB |
Every region had unlimited evenings and weekends from 9 p.m. Adding $7 to make the plan $57 moved the start of free evenings to 6 p.m.
Free promotion
Buyers could pick one of three free extras: 1000 messages with unlimited received messages, double daytime minutes, or My5 Local.
The $20 package
For voicemail and extras, a $20 package could be added. It included Voicemail 25, Caller Display, and unlimited sent and received text, picture and video messages.

The phone and one limit
The Android phone, the HTC Hero, was $99 with the smartphone plan whether or not the $20 package was added. Because the plan already included data, extra data could not be added, unlike a separate voice plan and separate data option. The original post warned that all plans could change without notice.
Why this still helps
The layout shows how to compare any plan: minutes, data, when free evenings start, bundled messaging and the effect of taxes. Check the carrier’s current terms before buying.
