Google’s Pixel 2 Might Feature a Strangely Shaped Main Camera
In a few months Google is going to unveil the Pixel 2. And according to rumours flying around, it’s quite possible the company will end up releasing a 5-inch Pixel 2 (codenamed Walleye) and larger 6-inch Pixel XL 2 (codenamed Taimen).
While we haven’t seen the Pixel 2 leak in images so far, several images allegedly depicting clear protective cases for the two phones have surfaced online via @Slashleaks.
The pictures paint a puzzling tableau – for starters they appear to hint that the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 will be quite different.
While the Pixel 2 will retain a more traditional design, it also seems it will also sport an unusually shaped main camera (based on the cutout on the back) It could be a dual camera setup, but we’re just guessing here.
As for the Pixel XL 2, judging by the insert showing a picture of the phone it can be speculated the device will feature a design reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6. This indicates that Google is indeed looking to spice things up in terms of design this year, as we it was previously hinted.
The two cases also show a 3.5mm headphone jack cutout at the top, as well as one for the fingerprint scanner on the back.
While the validity of these images hangs in the air at the moment and you should take them with a grain of salt, we’re bound to see more images and leaks as the Pixel 2’s launch draws closer.
