Samsung To Utilize Sony’s IMX240 Sensor On The S6
The Galaxy S6 stories just keep flying out and today we have some very important camera information to pass your guys’ way. According to the very reputable Samsung news site, SamMobile, Samsung has finalized their choice of camera for their next flagship device. Contrary to previous reports that Samsung would use their own home-made 20MP sensor, SamMobile claims that they will use the Sony made 16MP IMX240. This is the same sensor that the Galaxy Note 4 is currently sporting.
While some will undoubtedly be disappointed with the lower pixel count, the IMX240 is a stellar camera as is evident by the stunning pictures the Note 4 churns out. SamMobile also stated the Samsung has made “considerable tweaks to the camera lens and the software” so, in theory, we should be seeing even better pictures with the S6!
Just under two weeks left and all will be revealed!
