Samsung’s Next Biggest Thing Is Here
Samsung has just “Kicked it up a notch!” with their latest smartphones, the Mega 5.8 and 6.3. What do those numbers stand for? The screen size of course! That’s right, Samsung has put together a phone with a 5.8″ screen and a ridiculous 6.3″ screen! Now I’m all for big screens but even I’m starting to wonder if I’d be able to pocket one of these. Here’s the specs breakdown:
Galaxy Mega 5.8
- 5.8″ qHD Display
- 1.4 GHz Dual-Core Processor
- 8GB Internal Storage
- microSD Slot
- 1.5 GB RAM
- 8MP Camera
- 1.9MP Front-Facing Camera
- 2600mAh Battery
- Android 4.2
Galaxy Mega 6.3
- 6.3″ HD Display
- 1.7 GHz Dual-Core Processor
- 8/16GB Internal Storage
- microSD Slot
- 1.5 GB RAM
- 8MP Camera
- 1.9MP Front Facing Camera
- 3200 mAh Battery
- Android 4.2
Now as you can tell by the specs these aren’t necessarily flagship devices but they’re not slouches either. I’d classify them as solid mid-level phones with massive screens. It is running Android 4.2 which will definitely speed things up and Samsung has brought a lot of the new features that debuted on the S IV to these devices, which is great to see.
In terms of availability, Europe and Russia will be getting this device in May. There’s no word on a wider release but I’m sure that if it sells well over there, Samsung will open up the availability.
What do you guys think? Too big?
