Motorola Announces The Moto E – Made To Last. Priced For All
As expected, Motorola has announced their new ultra-low cost entry level device today, the Moto E. Here’s the spec breakdown:
- 4.3″ qHD IPS Display
- 1.2 GHz Dual-Core Snapdragon 200 Processor
- 1GB RAM
- 4GB Internal Storage
- microSD Card Slot
- 5MP Camera
- 1980 mAh Battery
- Android 4.4.2 (with a commitment to update to at least Android 4.4.3)
On the design side of things, this Moto looks very much like it’s brothers, the Moto X and Moto G and like the Moto G, the Moto E will have user swappable back plates so you can change up your phone to suit your style. One unique change in the design is the move to front facing stereo speakers a la HTC. The speaker grills do interrupt a rather streamline phone but I’m sure the better audio will be appreciated. One other minor change is that Motorola has made their device splash resistant. No, it’s no waterproof, but a little bit of water shouldn’t hurt this guy.
Price point is where this guy really shines and why the tag line is “priced for all.” For us here in Canada, the Moto E will be available for purchase for just $179! Pretty nice pricing right? For our US neighbours, they get an even better deal as this phone will start at just $129 down there!! Seeing the US pricing makes me a little envious but it is what it is.
So what do you guys think of Motorola’s new ultra-budget phone?
