The problem
Ice Cream Sandwich introduced a darker look, but a few built-in icons and apps kept an older style. They stood out against the rest of the interface.
What the pack changed
- A blue graphic package with icons and notification icons made by the developer.
- Blacked-out versions of Gmail, SMS, Contacts, Dialer and People.
- A blacked-out Gtalk, though its notification icon did not work unless the framework-res.apk file was also modified.
- The cyan lines removed from the dialer background.
- New browser icons and a new glass-style transparent Gtalk icon.
Several pieces borrowed themed apps from other community members, who were credited in the original post.
Why root was required
Replacing system apps and system files needs administrator access. That is why this was a rooted-phone hobby, not a normal setting.
Risks
Editing system files can cause crashes or boot problems, and files from forums can contain harmful code. Back up your phone and only use sources you trust.

What did it fix?
The mismatch between some stock icons and the dark Ice Cream Sandwich theme.
Is it relevant today?
