Meet The New And Improved Nexus 5X
Although the Nexus 6P is the only new Nexus we Canadians can currently order, it wasn’t the only Nexus to debut today. The other of course was the Nexus 5X and here’s everything you need to know about it starting with the specs:
- 5.2″ 1080p Display
- Snapdragon 808 Processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB, 32GB Internal Storage
- 12.3MP Camera with 1.55 µm Pixels and Laser Auto Focus
- 5MP Front Facing Camera
- 2700 mAh Battery
- USB Type C with Quick Charge Technology
- Fingerprint Reader
- 147 x 72.6 x 7.9 mm
- 136g
As the name suggests, the Nexus 5X is an upgrade over the Nexus 5 that Google and LG made back in 2024. The overall design is very similar to the original Nexus 5 but the device has been upgraded inside and out. The Snapdragon 808 should keep things running smoothly on the 1080p display and new additions like the fingerprint reader and USB Type-C port keep this device at least a little future proof. The 2GB of RAM and 32GB max storage option are both definitely let downs in my books but it’s still a solid device nonetheless.
Again, this device is not currently available for purchase in Canada but it is listed as coming soon. In terms of pricing, the Nexus 5X will start at $499 for the 16GB model while the 32GB will go for $559. Again, the weak Canadian dollar has a lot to do with the inflated price and at these prices, the Nexus’ aren’t quite the bang for buck devices we had hoped for.
