LG Exec Details Some Of LG’s Future Plans
LG is a company that is definitely on the rise. They have been putting together some great devices as of late and are doing their best to steal some attention away from their Korean counterpart Samsung. Recently LG Bulgaria exec, Dimitar Valev, was interviewed by dnevnik.bg and during the interview he made known some of LG’s device plans for the coming year.
To begin with, Valev confirmed that LG would be producing a new tablet and that the tablet would be available before the end of 2024. LG hasn’t been in the tablet market for quite some time now so lets hope that they bring a winner to the table. Valev also confirmed that LG would not only be producing flexible displays over the coming year but that they are working on creating there very own flexible display devices. One such device to utilize their flexible displays will be a bendy smartwatch, although this isn’t expected until 2024.
Wearable tech is all the rage these days so it makes sense that LG wants to cash in on the trend. We’ve seen some pretty cool concepts already of what some people hope a flexible display will be able to achieve in terms of design but whether or not those concepts become a reality we’ll have to wait and see.
For the phablet fans out there, you’ll be happy to know that LG isn’t planning to ditch phablets any time soon. In fact, Valev stated that LG will be going even bigger in terms of screen size, possibly all the way up the 6″ range! While many will immediately right off such a large device, if LG is able to achieve that same super thin bezel that they achieved on the G2, a 6″ device wouldn’t really be that bad at all!
The final little bit that Valev made known about LG’s future plans is that they may take a dive back into the Windows Phone market. That’s another area that LG has seemingly abandoned over the past couple of years but Valev states that if things on the Windows Phone side start to pick up, they’ll definitely re-enter that market again.
All in all, it sounds like LG has a good plan going forward and if they keep building on what they’re currently doing, they’re going to continue to be a force in the mobile tech world.
