Who it was for
This was a niche device for people who need a very tough phone, for example for outdoor or demanding work. It was not a top-of-the-line phone, but the author thought it was pretty good for what it aimed to be.
Better than the original
The earlier Rugby had a poor display and weaker internals. After a couple of apps were installed, the slowdown became obvious. The LTE model was described as leaps and bounds better, so buyers no longer had to give up performance to get a strong build.
