Galaxy Note 2 May Come With Flexible Screen
So the Galaxy Note 2 is all set to be announced at the end of the month. But that doesn’t mean that the rumours are going to stop. More likely, they’ll keep on coming right up to the end.
So today’s news is that the Note 2 will feature a flexible screen. Now this doesn’t mean that we’re going to have a flexible phone. As I said yesterday, there’s still a few more hurdles to clear before we get those. But a flexible screen does open the possibility to a curved screen.
The screen is said to use an unbreakable plane (UBP) and plastic substrate which allows the device to come in 0.4mm thinner. This thinning of the screen is supposed to allow for an even thicker battery (less charging!).
The second bit of the rumour has to do with the above picture. Apparently the picture surfaced on Samsung’s Facebook page with the caption, “Picture perfect view made even more perfect with Samsung Galaxy S3.” Clearly the device is not a Galaxy S3. So the speculation is that it’s the Galaxy Note 2. I’m a little hesitant to say that is indeed the phone. I can’t see Samsung straying from the physical home button all of a sudden. Nevertheless, is that is the device, I love the look . I’ve gotten quite used to on screen buttons now. And the fewer buttons on the front equals either a larger screen or a smaller footprint.
We’ll keep on anxiously waiting to see what this device will really be.
