KitKat Rolling Out To G2 Users! New KnockCode Feature On Board

Android KitKat

Another phone has just gotten KitKat!  LG has announced that Android 4.4 KitKat is now rolling out to G2 devices here in Canada.  In addition to the usual performance and battery boosts (the battery on that phone was already amazing!), LG has brought the new KnockCode feature to the G2.

KnockCode is essentially the evolution of their KnockOn feature.  KnockOn turned on your device with a double tap while KnockCode will unlock your device with a combination of taps.

“KnockCode offers greater convenience and security as the pattern is entered on a blank screen using anywhere from two to eight taps, allowing for more than 80,000 possible combinations for an unmatched level of safety and security.”

When I was using the G2 I actually found the KnockOn feature quite useful and as you can see, other manufacturers have picked it up as well.  KnockCode seems like it could be a great option to keep your phone secure without the tedious unlock patterns and codes!

Let us know if you get the update and check out the video demo of KnockOn below!
