Google Holding An Event October 29

“The playground is open!”  The last time we heard this the Nexus 7 was brought into the world.  And once again, Google is opening the playground on October 29.  What does this mean?  Well the most obvious idea is that this date will be for the announcement of the rumoured and leaked upcoming Nexus 4 or LG Nexus or LG Optimus Nexus.

It makes a lot of sense for this announcement to be for their next Nexus phone.  It fits in with their usual Nexus phone timeline and it’s pretty clear at this point that the LG Nexus is ready for prime time.  We’ve also already seen several leaks of Android 4.2, the next iteration of Android, running on devices.  Put it all together and you get an LG/Google Nexus announcement.

There is also some speculation going around that perhaps there will indeed be other Nexus devices being announced since LG is not listed in the announcement whereas with the last Nexus phone announcement Samsung and Google were clearly mentioned in the invite.  I for one have pretty much given up hope for multiple Nexus devices at this point.

There are some additional things that I would love to see at the event.  Firstly, I’d like to know what has happened with the Nexus Q.  While I wasn’t blown away by the product when it was first announced, I’m still very interested to see what they’re doing with it.  Secondly, I’m hoping that there will indeed be some talk about the Nexus program.  Although we may not see multiple Nexus devices on the 29th, I’m hoping that the Nexus program does get a revisit so that more and more Nexus devices will make their way to the market.

What do you guys hope to see or expect to see on the 29th?
